22.5 hours per week - we can be flexible on days and hours to suit the candidate.
25 days holiday + bhol / annum prorated
Preferably Mondays would be a working day, and preferably at least one of the days would be until at least 4:30pm; but we are happy to accommodate school hours on the other days where needed. These hours could be worked over 3 or 4 days to suit the candidate.
- Provide advice on all ER matters and to ensure all complaints and disciplinary hearings are conducted in line with the Complaints/Grievance and Disciplinary guidelines, to ensure best practice adopted.
- Update policies and procedures to ensure they reflect best practise.
- Providing advice and guidance to Managers on our Absence Policy and Procedures.
- Proactive management of our long-term sickness, amended duties and health conditions cases and involving Occupational Health as and when appropriate.
- Be the first point of contact for, and manage, maternity, paternity and flexible working cases
- Working with Payroll to process new starters, leavers and contractual changers where necessary.
- Support managers with probationary review meetings where potential outcome could be extension / dismissal
- Supporting with any HR related projects, including restructures and changes to terms and conditions
- Responsible for the successful recruitment of all staff.
- Support in the ISO 133485 auditing process, being the lead on People, Training and Competence.
- Monitor and report on KPI’s related to People and Health and Safety for submission at the monthly Senior Management Meeting.
- Act as HS&E Representative for staff, undertaking regular consultations with staff; writing and reviewing risk assessments and undertaking regular walk arounds.
- Undertake internal audits in line with the schedule, to ensure the businesses compliance with ISO13485.
- Support in the ISO 133485 auditing process, being the lead on People, Training and Competence.
- Monitor and report on KPI’s related to People for submission at the monthly Senior Management Meeting.
- Understanding of the AKI Quality Policy, and the importance of ISO 13485
- Any other ad hoc duty as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Up to date experience and confident in usage of Microsoft Office and HR packages
- Good working knowledge of employment law
- CIPD qualified (level 7) or working towards
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or engineering based organisation
- Excellent communication skills and can multitask
- Proactive and pragmatic approach to managing Employee Relations issues
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external contacts
- Ability to handle conflict/confrontation effectively
- A high level of personal integrity demonstrating respect and empathy for others and is consistent, open and honest
- IOSH Managing safely qualified, or willing to work towards.
- Previous experience or exposure to Health and safety in the workplace would be highly advantageous.
- Trained internal auditor, or willing to work towards,
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and written; with attention to detail.
